DIAMONDS AND PEARLS AWARD
The DIAMOND and PEARLS Scholarship was established in 2007. This award is sponsored by The DIAMOND Foundation, Inc. in partnership with P.E.A.R.L.S., Inc. of the Nu Xi Omega Alumnae chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The New Brunswick Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc has as its mission - Saving Young Black Men. The Foundation suppports this initiative through this award by asking that P.E.A.R.L.S. make this a priority of their organization as well. P.E.A.R.L.S., Inc. selects a young man annually to receive this award. The award is presented annually at the Maurice B. Williams Scholarship Luncheon sponsored by P.E.A.R.L.S., Inc in the spring each year.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Must be a resident of Somerset or Middlesex Counties of New Jersey

Must be a minority male student

Must demonstrate financial need

Must be in good academic standing with 2.5 grade point average

Should have served in a leadership capacity in school and/or within the community

Should be a high school senior with plans to attend a two year or four year college or university

An official sealed transcript must be submitted via mail to the address noted on the application
