JOHN D. STEINLINE JR. MEMORIAL AWARD
John Dell Steinline, Jr., son of the late Jean Cooper Steilnine and the late John Dell Steinline, Sr. , was born October 2, 1964 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. John received his early childhood education at Rutgers Preparatory School. Brother Steinline was an active member of the Ski Club, Junior Varsity Soccer, Model United Nations and the Drama Club.
In 1988, John Steinline received his bachelor's of arts degree in history from the University of Connecticut, where he was also initiated into the Nu Psi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in 1986. During his years at the University of Connecticut, John was a member of the Rugby Club and the Black Student Association where he chaired the scholarship committee. He also held the offices of Keeper of Exchequer (treasurer) and Vice Polemarch( Vice President) of his chapter. Brother Steinline became an active and financial member of the New Brunswick Alumni Chapter in 1988.
Brother Steinline entered the Chapter Invisible, on April 17, 1990, after a tragic car accident. His future plans were to attend law school at Hofstra University, Western New England or St. John's University. He is greatly missed by his family, his church, his fraternity brothers and his friends. Although he lived a short life, his spirit lives on! A scholarship was named in his memory in 1986.
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Must be a graduating graduating high school senior who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning. Students must either have selected a college or completed the application process.

A minimum GPA necessary for scholarship consideration is 2.50.

All Application packets muxt be complete including the application, two letters of recommendation, an official high school transcript and essay.
